WHAT WE POSSIBLY HAVE IN COMMON…
I was a professional rider for more than 17 years, preparing horses at home for GP riders. I worked in France, Spain, Germany, the UK, and trained with a Dutch trainer for a while as well. So a bit of the main riding schools worldwide. I could give you names. But I mean…
The important thing is that, just like you, I had the chance to ride big movers.
Like you, I know about the amazing sensations you get on horseback when you nail this smooth transition, this powerful move. When you feel yourself inside the back of your horse and he feels gently inside your hands, like the deepest connection you’ve ever experienced.
But I also know about riding one horse after another having the sensation that you’re running after the clock to get it all done. I also know about the pressure of being on top of all the tasks at the stables. I also know about feeling this knot in the stomach every day before riding a “difficult” young horse.
I know about closing down your friends circle to only horsey people because it’s your work, your hobby, and it takes all your time, including of course the week-ends.
It’s your passion, your joy. And it should need no effort to remain this way.
WHAT WE PROBABLY DON'T HAVE IN COMMON…
As you see, I was getting what I dreamt of: riding elite horses and joining the atmosphere of the top level competition. However, I slipped out unnoticeably into tiredness and lack of purpose.
That’s when a “poorly packaged gift” came to my door. Emotional shock, injury. Hitting rock bottom put me on a healing path.
This healing path for me was called Yoga practice. It’s now 15 years. Other destinations: India, Scandinavian countries, the UK again (that’s a consistent one!). New circle of people, new friends, new ideas, new perspectives.
But the same thread: movement and body sensations.
Again, I could tell you about the international mentors I had, but I mean…
The main thing is that this new path sparked my awakening and led me to finding purpose and fulfilment living in service to others.
As an Equestrian Coach, I’m here to help you perform through joy and awareness, so that you can manifest your dream results on competition, create a true partnership with your horse and impact the world.
AND SADDLE FITTING? YOU MIGHT ASK…
Well if you want to play around with biomechanics and performance, you cannot do it without starting with the saddle.
It would be like running the Olympics with the wrong shoes. You may quickly go into injury or simply poor results.
For me, it is a fantastic playground to see the quick (if not instantaneous) improvement of the mobility for both horse and rider.
Saddle fitting has also been the link that brought me back to the horse world after Lockdown in 2020.
